Scripture Union Daily Guide 29th March 2025 Outline

Israel’s worship celebrated God’s words and deeds in different historical periods through the major religious festivals that they commemorated. Four periodic feasts are found in today’s passage (Numbers 28:1-8,9-10,11-15,16-25). Here we see God specifying the prescription of the daily offerings; the method, the type of animal and the timing of the sacrifices (Numbers 28:1-2). Note also that God called it “my food” (Numbers 28:2).

Like the Israelites who must meet with God both morning and evening, we too must ensure to meet with the Lord first thing in the morning at our Quiet Time and family devotion. There we seek His presence to accompany us throughout the day. In the evening, we return to give Him thanks. How faithful are you to meeting God daily through His word and prayer?

Read Numbers 28:1-7 again and notice the requirements for these offerings? What difference can you notice of the sacrifice on the Sabbath (Numbers 28:9,10)? Identify other sacrifices from Numbers 28:11,17 and their implications to us today? As you go through these verses, try to imagine the daily expense from which Christ has saved us by sacrificing Himself once for all. It is therefore necessary to show our gratitude by regularly bringing our “fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice pleasing to God” (Philippians 4:18).

* Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer:
Help me, oh Lord, to regularly seek your face as a daily sacrifice of worship, praise and supplication.

Prayer for the Week:
Pray for the sick, that the Lord will touch and heal them.
Pray that they will receive strength to hold firmly on the word of God
